year 2010, with 60% of the world’ s heart disease patients in India
alone.
Every 4th man has a
heart attack before retirement in USA and in India it is every 3rd
man, because we are genetically three times more vulnerable for
heart attack than Europeans and Americans.

The Telephonic ECG Network has
already been successfully implemented in Karnataka.
A chain of ECG recording facility has been provided at every
district hospital of Karnataka, which is connected to
Asia Heart Foundation and
Narayana Hrudayalaya |

through the telephone line or VSAT or through Internet
for interpretation/cardiologist opinion, irrespective of the
distance and other geographic barriers. |
This can significantly reduce the
morbidity and mortality by early invention and treatment provided
locally, without patient traveling to cardiologist centers, which
saves on crucial time and cost.
The decision on disease
management is based on history, interpretation of biochemical data
and interpretation of images, and all this can be done through wire.
