Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences,
a 350 bed multi specialty teaching hospital, is the largest
cardiac hospitals in eastern India. The Institute houses the
largest Nephrology Unit in this part of the country. The
hospital is noted for good academic and clinical infrastructure,
bearing the credit of conducting more than ten post graduate
medical courses accredited under the National Board of
Examinations, New Delhi, and
Indira Gandhi National Open
University, as well as diploma courses in paramedical under
State Medical Faculty of West Bengal, and nursing courses under
West Bengal University of Health Sciences and West Bengal
Nursing Council for the last four years. |

The hospital has the largest
dialysis centre in eastern India with 22 dialysis machines
running on a 24x7 basis. The unit will be expanding to 50
machines, in the near future.
The Medical Laboratory of the Institute is accredited by the
National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (NABL) and is
equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities.
The Radiography unit of the hospital offers facilities of CT
scan, MRIs, Ultrasonography and X-rays through state-of –the-art
machinery.
These facilities offer very good practical as well as
theoretical exposure to the students to most modern medical
gadgetry and their handling, to enable them to understand the
operations and to carry out the intricate techniques involved. |

Eligibility : |

|
Twelfth standard / PUC (or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry
Biology) with minimum
45 % aggregate marks |

Admission : |

Application forms are issued at the beginning of each
academic year (May/June) and are available from
Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac
Sciences.

Candidates will be screened and selected after an interview.

Training : |
|
-
Students will have to take monthly internal assessment exams
and annual university exams.
-
Periodic tests are also conducted on completion of various
chapters.

Practical training is imparted in all relevant branches by
rotation.

of total fees, Caution Deposit and Registration
Fees are to be paid at the beginning of 1st year of Course.

Remaining 50% of the total fees to be paid at the beginning
of the 2nd year of the Course.

The
above charges except the Caution Deposit are non-refundable
in case of any discontinuity of Course by any candidate.

Fees are payable by Demand Draft drawn in favour of
Asia
Heart Foundation.

Internship Period : |
|
-
Duration 3 months, commencing after the declaration of Final
Examination Results.
-
Candidates are entitled to a stipend of Rs. 1,000/- per
month during Internship period.
