A gold Medalist in Surgery from Calcutta Medical College, a silver Medalist in Operative Surgery and Surgical Anatomy and a member, Board of Undergraduate Examiners, Imperial College, London, he has a reputation of having performed Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) in Kolkata with 98% success rate.

He is also credited with performing the first bloodless surgery in Kolkata. Trained in General and Cardio thoracic Surgery in United Kingdom, he did his fellowship in adult cardiac surgery at Mayo Clinic, USA. Realizing his dream of reaching out to his fellow countrymen with his skills, he aims for further accomplishments in adult cardiac surgery.
