Most
Elderly have multiple pathologies and are on multiple drugs. There
one particular symptom could be related to one of variety of
illnesses they have or a new problem. Because of these problems and
due to ageing they could be very complicated. The Geriatrician could
see them as a whole and all organ systems. They could decide what is
the current problem, which could be more cost effective. They are
too responsive to medication, because of impaired renal function.
Elderly could present with atypical symptoms eg Confusion, fall,
Immobility, Incontinence. |
