The Department of Cardiac Surgery was the first one to start with the Genesis of this hospital in April 2000 to bring world class facility within the reach of common man. Within a short span of five years, this department has become the most leading cardiac unit in the eastern zone, performing highest number of cardiac surgeries, which is to the tune of 150 cases per month.

The department has completed more than 5,000 cases in five years. This department is well known for performing all varieties of cardiac surgical procedures and is the leading centre for pediatric cardiac surgery in whole of eastern India.
