Introduction

Good nursing is vital for the speedy recovery from any disease. Attention to detail and comfort help in making the sick, injured and the infirm a lot more tolerant. Cheerful, resourceful and intelligent, nurses can greatly influence a patient's attitude in a positive direction towards his / her recovery. This course is designed to equip aspiring nurses with the right balance of professionalism and general education. Every module is a comprehensive, strategic step towards becoming a professional nurse with self-direction and an ability to shoulder responsibility.

Training

Students will be trained at Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences and affiliate hospitals. The advantage of being trained at a super-speciality hospital like Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences is the experience of working in a challenging environment where skills are honed and competency is put to test, everyday.

Candidates are selected through selection test conducted by West Bengal University of Health Sciences.  The course is conducted by College of Nursing, Asia Heart Foundation at Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Science, 124 Mukundapur, EM ByPass, Kolkata – 700 099.

 
Eligibility

For admission: A candidate who has been granted a diploma/certificate in GNM by West Bengal Nursing Council or other state Nursing Council recognised by the University for the purpose and has been registered with same nursing councils with at least two years experience as a nurse and who has passed the 10+2 years Higher Secondary examination Or an examination considered equivalent thereto.

 
Age
Such candidate should not exceed 50 years of age on 1st September.
 
Admissions

Normally 1st week of September.
